Cooper Sewell

Director of Student Ministries

Born and raised in Marietta, Cooper has spent his whole life in the Metro Atlanta area. Though raised in a believing home, Cooper’s heart was far from the Lord throughout his adolescence. After being invited to attend church by his close friend, and future wife, Cooper’s heart and mind were transformed by the Gospel at the age of 17. Cooper graduated from Kennesaw State after circuitously settling on a degree in Construction Management. He married his wife, Mary Madison, in 2019, and worked in the custom construction industry, while also serving in the worship and student ministries at his church. Sensing a call to pastoral ministry, Cooper began working full-time in student ministry in 2022 and began pursuing an MDiv from Reformed Theological Seminary shortly thereafter. Cooper joined the staff at ChristChurch in June 2024 as the Director of Student Ministries.

The Sewell’s live in Marietta, in a house where Mary Madison lived as a young girl. They have a son named Sheppard, and an Australian Shepherd named Samwise. Cooper is passionate about helping others to better understand their Bible and grow in their knowledge, faith, and love of the Lord. In his spare time, Cooper enjoys listening and playing music with his wife, reading theology and fiction, playing video games, and spending time with friends and family. The Sewell’s are lovers of Tolkien, Star Wars, Bach, Rachmaninov, folk music, and hymns.
