Home groups exist for fellowship, care and outreach. We want Christ to be at work by his Spirit ministering to us and through us to one another with the goal that people are cared for and encouraged to lead lives that are pleasing to God. All groups are led by trained lay-leaders from the congregation who receive continued oversight and support from our pastoral staff. Groups meet on the second and fourth Sunday evenings each month. Many groups also participate in monthly service projects or social events, in place of a regular meeting.
"I have loved the fellowship at ChristChurch and am excited about its outward looking vision. I cannot wait to become more involved in the ministry of ChristChurch in Atlanta!"
Apply the Gospel to our lives
As we remind one another of God's grace, we help each other to open our lives to his transforming power. We are told in scripture to: "encourage, serve, rejoice, weep with, correct, instruct, sing to, build up, accept and love one another." As we live out these commands, our groups naturally become vital environments for pastoral care.
Exercise our gifts
Spiritual gifts, including a vision for ministry and service, are discovered and developed in the context of these groups.
Reach out
We seek to ensure that our home groups are places to which we can invite all our friends. Often those with no faith will be more than willing to come to a small and informal group before they would think of coming to church. Each group holds regular events of various sorts to which it is especially easy to invite friends.
