The entire story of the Bible can be seen as a struggle between true faith and idolatry. Just as in the past, believers today find themselves living in a religiously pluralistic society. Individual Christians work and live among a great variety of gods–including the gods of wealth, celebrity, pleasure, ideology, and achievement. How can we be sure to follow God rather than the idols of our society and neighbors? How can we renew ourselves when we fail or fall? Join us as we answer these and other questions from the book of Judges and the stories of Daniel and Joseph.
Led by Bill Hollberg
Are your personal spiritual practices producing in you the life that God wants for you? In our study of The Spiritual Disciplines we will review the classic disciplines of the faith and how we can be encouraged to pursue God’s heart and seek His face in the process of establishing the character of Christ in us, being mindful of Dallas Willard’s observation that “Grace is not opposed to effort; it’s opposed to earning.” All are welcome!
Led by various elders (Green Room B)
Are you interested in pursuing membership at ChristChurch? Come learn more about ChristChurch’s vision and what it means to be a member here. This is also a great way to meet others and get to know the leadership of our church.
Led by Sharon Gardner and Kathryn Jackson
With so many voices and options out there, the answer to the question, “What does it mean to be a woman?” can be hard to sort out. Therefore, we will be repeating the content of the last year’s Wednesday Bible studies for those who missed it. In this series, we will be exploring and developing a biblical worldview which challenges us to understand and embrace our unique God-given design and purpose as women in today’s culture. As a part of our discussion, we will look at feminism, its influence on our culture and worldview, and how its development may support or depart from the biblical picture of womanhood.
Led by Eric Jackson and others
All men are invited to join us as we study what is at a man’s core identity and give an overview of Biblical masculinity, using the video series by Robert Lewis. Over the course of the study, men will learn how to clearly define manhood and will finally be able to give a succinct and passionate answer to the questions, “What is a man?” and “What am I living to be?” It will also help men develop a personal plan of action.
Led by Bill and Jenny Griscom
If you have children between the ages of 2-12, this valuable video series will help you as you seek to “train them up in the way that they should go” to become obedient, respectful children who will bring honor to God. Bill & Jenny, parents of 5, will use Gary & Anne Marie Ezzo’s material, along with material from Ted Tripp and others, to help you in your child rearing.
